The pioneering technology developed by Stites & Harbison client Tensor Engineering Co. has helped make the dramatic Sundial Bridge a safe and functional reality. Santiago Calatrava designed the 722-foot pedestrian span which crosses the Sacramento River.

The Sundial is the first steel-inclined pylon, cable-stayed bridge in the United States. The bridge is part of the Turtle Bay Exploration Park's trail system.
